Kids on playground; new girl, Evelyn, alone, left out. Sue, comes up & asks her for help on homework. Janie comes up & invites Sue to birthday party but not the new girl.
12:38:45 At home w/ mother she talks about needing a new dress for the party.
12:39:04 Janie planning her birthday party, brother teases her that she should put request for presents. Phone rings and girl doesn’t want to tell neighbor (Mrs. Andrews) its for her. Mrs. Andrews comes to the phone & talks like gossip. Mrs. Andrews tells the girl not to throw anymore sneakers over the fence.
