Slate: ?? Hue. Marines along ??. Destroyed neighborhood w/ houses, wrecked cars, soldiers walking thru; dead bodies, animals. Soldiers around front of house. Climbing large concrete television (?) broadcast tower, atop Citadel, badly damaged. Rooftop w/ Vietnamese, ARVN, soldiers holding yellow flag; film cameraman shooting. Vietnamese spread out South Vietnam flag, attach ropes. Begin to raise & heavy colored smoke or gas blown across. M-16 rifles firing salute in air. Men w/ flag climbing tower w/ iron rebar sticking out. Flag flying from top, men descend. Soldiers on rooftop watching, talking on telephone. Views of flag.

08:27:57 Slate: 23Feb Hue. GI changing 6x6 truck tire while another stands w/ cigarette. Soldier in flak jacket cleaning .50 caliber machine gun (MG) mounted on top of truck; another getting water or fuel from tank on trailer. Marines cleaning .50 caliber spotting rifle on Marine Corps M-50 Ontos tracked vehicle. Jeep arrives, driver out w/ automatic rifle. Man guides tank parking in muddy yard. CU tracks.
08:30:34 Slate 22Feb Hue. A4 fighter over low; large napalm bomb explodes across Perfume River. Several passes & fireballs beyond collapsed bridge. Jet seen dropping two bombs & explosions; second & third passes & explosions. Tight turn; light spotter plane over.
