19:38:47 MCU Hiss testifying / questioned about pictures & dates. Hiss tells about recognizing Crosley, AKA Chambers, says he had poor teeth, talks about Crosley/Chambers living in his place for a few days. Says only testifying the truth.
19:41:17 Chambers handed small photograph. Says he can’t recognize as can only see part of the face in the picture. Hiss: “Thank you; I certainly urge this committee not to follow any hit and run tactics; to keep right after this issue of who is chambers, of what credibility to give to his fantastic testimony. I certainly do & I intend to do the best I can to get to the bottom of this & to give this committee any information I can dig up. And I have asked my counsel so to do as my counsel digs up any facts.” W/ cigarette in hand.

19:42:43 Karl Mundt (?) says he knows it is impossible to know if Hiss & others were members of the Communist party. Mundt says he knows that Hiss had associations w/ known Communists namely Crosley / Chambers. Would like to know if Hiss was a member of the Ware group / Harold Ware to promote people into key government positions.
19:46:23 Hiss testifying makes long speech re Chambers & his identity. Hiss asks that the committee asks questions on his behalf of Chambers. “Where does he reside now?”
