De Lattre and other French officers saluting. 01:00:03 General J Lawton Collins, Chief of Staff, with General de Lattre at microphone. Ambassador Henri Bonnet and French officers stand in BG General Collins makes a speech of greetings, saying that they know of General de Lattre's great fight in Indo-china. General de Lattre answers in English, saying at the end that the French are engaged in a ruthless war against Communism in Indochina. De Lattre makes a statement in French for Voice of America radio. Collins and de Lattre as the latter makes she same speech in French that he made above in English.
