SOF: “I feel that fourth amendment to the Constitution limits the authority of the Committee & the power of the Committee to an investigation of RFC (Reconstruction Finance Corporation) & its subsidiaries. That being my belief & I think the Supreme Court decisions substantiate it, I’m in good company, and the fact American Overseas Tanker Corporation had nothing to do w/ the RFC, the matter under investigation, which is privately financed & therefore under the 4th Amendment, an inquiry beyond the scope of the authority...would be a violation of their rights.”
