Was brought before church court for possible misuse of church funds to support his Anti-Smith Democrats during presidential campaign while promoting Herbert Hoover. He was found not guilty; also not guilty on adultery charges. In Oct31 a Federal Grand Jury brought charges but was found not guilty in 1934 but his reputation was destroyed.
