Mother at window as she waves father off to work thru venetian blinds. Grandfather clock chimes - 8.30. 11:02:44 EXT traffic cop blows whistle & gestures to cars; helps Jack & others across road. Jack hears noise from school playground. Kids playing baseball. 11:03:26 CU Jack’s friend yelps & falls to ground as he’s hit on the ear by baseball from playground - VO “Oh, do you know how serious that can be?” - kids crowd round. 11:03:41 School nurse tends Joe’s ear; talks, SOF, to kids about looking after their ears. “What do you think your ears look like?” - cue chorus of “Like ears, like this!” w/ kids pointing to ears; nurse points to convenient diagram of outer & inner ear on wall.
