Looks at darkroom photograph. “My work isn’t important enough, I’m only a woman.” Sits thinking. Pan over room & stuff laying around. She looks at wedding ring. Combs hair. “If he thinks I’m going to obey his every command he can get right out of my life...”
03:51:27 Ext. of Daniel Boone Hotel w/ sign on. Interior of man shown his hotel room by bellhop, takes off hat & thinks: “That’s a woman for you, you can never tell what she’s going to do next....what a temper...how could I win, I’m only a man.” Unpacks typewriter. Thinks about how they do newspaper articles together. Sits thinking.
03:53:06 Man leans into camera, puts heads in hands. Ext. of building & reporters out of building assigned to same story, he on sidewalk suggests going & talking. Sittng in diner over coffee smoking; she says she’s quitting her job. He tries to get her to keep working, “Its about time I accepted you the way you are.”
03:55:24 In house & he lies on couch reading, she carries food to table. ‘Let’s straighten up and go out...the least you could do is pick up your clothes.” “The least you could do is forget about your job on Sundays...” They get into an argument again. “Are you trying to boss me again?”
03:56:32 Alarm clock goes off; he’s dressing, she combing hair. They are happy. She wants to go out for dinner that night. He puts on necktie “we never save a penny that way.” They argue a bit but try to work at it.

They both write down all the things they have wanted. Discuss what they both want: vacation, kids, etc. Talk about cutting down on cigarette, cabs; she suggests eating at home more. “Its fun to make money like this!” Happy couple.

He changes baby diaper, wife comes & gets him for dinner. Family sitting around table talking, laughing & discussing newspaper. He is smoking, the walk off arm in arm. The End.
