Jim w/ singer, juditha, at table, promises money, Marshall sits down & they plot. 06:49:30 Rosalia rings Pa’s bell, asks for Jim; goes to club, sees Jim wooing singer. Leaves upset. Jim, Marshall & henchman Lomax in dark alley plant bomb intended for Pa Wilkins. 06:51:15 Jazz band rehersal practice on stage w/ US flag; conductor scolding musicians; pianist Flivver leans on table,then lays down. Conductor shouts at him; band starts to play again. Conductor drops stick finds bomb under table; musicians throw it to one another & yell. 06:54:44 Flivver runs outside, puts bomb in barrel. Musicians fan conductor; start to play as bomb detonates, smoke appears, musicians collapse. 06:55:50 Greensboro Courier newspaper headline: “Bomb Found In Progress Hall”, read by Ola in South. She & Greg head north. MCU streamliner railroad train runby camera (13 seconds). 06:56:18 Pa Wilkins makes speech in hall; Marshall at back of hall instructs Lomax to shoot him. Blacks cheer Wilkins. 06:57:03 Traffic in front of Pennsylvania Statiooni. Ola leaves station (?), gets in taxicab. Meeting continues parading. A scream, crowd on pavement around body; police arrive. Gregory and Ola get home to find suicide note revealing Rosalia pregnant by Jim. 07:00:27 Club singer & Jim w/ Marshall at meeting. Greg & Ola arrive; give Jim Rosalia’s note. Ola hugs Pa, tells him about Rosalia; music stops. Pa approaches Jim, angry; Marshall orders henchman to shoot & Jim jumps in front of bullet. Ola: “Now I know what you’re fighting for”.
