Pt. 2 of 3 Tony and girlfriend Dorothy in open-top car discussing the Emery’s lapse in faith; “Just think what it would mean if that family had Christ in their home” / “God expects us to witness for him”. 13:19:39 Tony in father’s shop - colleague says he goes to church but keeps his faith to himself - shouldn’t argue about religion or politics. Phone rings - Sharon asking Tony if Bible story tape is ready yet. CU open-reel tape recorder playing hymn - zoom out to Dorothy and Tony listening. 13:21:21 Newly-installed hi-fi in Emery house playing same tape of hymns and Bible stories - pan to mother looking worried - goes into Sharon’s room to ask if she wants to turn it off. Father comes home, mother frantic after listening to Bible tape all afternoon. Father gives Sharon some new records; mother in living room puts tape on fire. Sharon calls electrical store, tells Tony’s father about tape. Father yells at Tony, forbids him to mention religion to customers; “if working here means that I can’t keep trying to share my faith in Christ then maybe I should look for another job”. 13:27:14 Tony’s parents at breakfast - Tony away on first day of new job at electrical plant.
