Sandy playing w/ doll: “I’ve got some news, Doug & I are getting married, Saturday!” “ We’re cutting out Saturday, as soon as Doug finishes at the service station.” “Sandy, I don’t think its such a sharp idea that somebody our age gets married anyway. Look at all the things you’ll be missing: going to college, everything!” “What about your mom & dad?” “They’ll just worry about ‘what will their friends say’.” “Don’t you think you should tell them about it?” They talk about why they’re getting married. “You don’t get married on a dare.” “I didn’t think you’d be such a wet blanket.” 09:00:05 Doug arrives: “Maybe you shouldn’t tell anybody.” They talk about it & new apartment.
