A Teenager’s Choice Pt 3 of 3 Doug comes into Sandy’s house, suprises her. They discuss her moving out while parents at bridge game - brother catches them kissing, runs for door: “Carry on!”. They hug. 09:16:51 Sandy in fancy dress in bedroom packing, looking anxious; father comes home, walks in saying he wanted to close the window in case it rains again. “Is there anything you want to tell me, Pumpkin?” “I’m going away; to get married.” He looks stunned. “Don’t try to stop me dad, I’ll be eighteen next month...you & mother don’t have to start worrying about me now; you can save it for Brent he’s always been your favorite anyhow.” Dad: “What’ll this do to your mother? Whatever happens I want you to remember this, when you were born you became the first person I ever loved completely unselfishly; not the way I loved your mother or anybody else; and when Brent came we love him to, but no more than we loved you...” father tells her how much he loves her, reminds her of when she used to sit on his lap & listen to Bible stories - “I wish we’d stayed close to God together, I wish, I wish...” Doug honking horn outside. 09:20:58 Sandy out of house w/ suitcase - tells Doug she can’t go with him. “Marriage is for real, for always...let’s go back & start right, w/ Christ at the center of our lives” - they hug.
