Post-WWII - 1946, England: Pilot Ejection From Meteor Jet Titles. 08:00:32 Biplane & co-pilot jumps from rear cockpit; parachute opening & drifting down. Twin-engine plane flies over. Pilot on ground climbing into plane behind wind tunnel. Fan starting up & speedometer showing wind speed. Pilot tries to climb out. Various attempts to get out w/ wind blowing past; jumps into net. 08:02:13 Tractor pulling Gloster Meteor fighter jet across tarmac. Several taxiing past others. 08:02:33 Man besides chart w/ labels explaining ejector seat & firing methods. CUs. 08:03:27 British military & civilians around base of tower to test ejection seat; man strapped into seat & fired up; lowered down again.
