WWI - 1918, France: Railway Artillery Reception And Assembly of Naval Railway Batteries
High angle / HA US military & several French civilians watch an extremely large 14”/50 caliber naval battleship gun barrel on cables swung over special railway carriage & lowered into position for assembly in the Saint Nazaire, France railroad yard. (Note: one of 8 built by Baldwin Locomotive Works & shipped from USA)
18:58:14 Low Angle / LA of black laborers guiding barrel into position; posing as cables removed.
18:58:48 Pan locomotives in the St. Nazaire locomotive shop w/ men working on railway guns & locomotives.
18:59:29 Ext. HA of 6-wheel bogies on tracks waiting assembly. Pan naval men painting gun & gun carriage; group of sailors carrying wood beam into carriage. Pan to crane hoisting iron sections.
19:00:48 Int. HA of navy men working assembling gun. CUs firing (?) mechanism w/ hydraulic lines; open breech shown.
