16:46:38 Returning plane, sailors watching, signalman on deck; damaged plane; burning crashed fighter plane on deck & men fighting fire. Burning plane w/ pilot rescued .
16:48:03 Debriefing pilots; radio plotters; men to battle stations; engine room w/ boilers, controls, turning propellor shafts. Skipper Dixie putting on helmet, mascot dog wearing life vest. Flak & firing anti-aircraft guns on Japanese attacking planes; MCUs. Hit planes into water; CU gunners. Jap Jill torpedo bomber thru flak & narrowly misses ship. Officer on telephone excited.
