Slate: 13Feb Upriver Hue City. American military on landing barge (LCU) w/ M-16 rifles, crates & belongings. On lookout w/ .50 cal machine guns (MG). View from water of three escort craft moving in front. Navy river patrol boat (PBR) Mark I w/ US flag past at high speed. Men on landing barge crouched along railing w/ crates of ammunition.
08:12:20 Large steel bridge w/ ends of two spans in water.
08:12:37 Building rooftops & heavily destroyed gate entrance to old city. (Citadel roof top)?
08:12:51 Front of jeep w/ many bullet holes thru from windshield parked along road. Burned out M-48 tank across street, few people. Pan over to bridge sections & collapsed middle. Destroyed buildings.
08:13:21 Slate: 13Feb?? Hue. Burned metal sheeting of market; collapsed sections. Debris. Buildings destroyed. Group of people sitting at building entrance. Vietnamese ARVN soldier past destroyed fronts of houses.
08:14:25 Men w/ helmets & civilian men standing about in front of buildings.
08:14:31 View of collapsed bridge from boat on river; load of ARVN soldiers w/ field packs & radios on LCM landing craft w/ US flag flying; approaching shore & soldier shooting from front (dark).
08:15:08 US Marines, troops, looking along road next to trees. Firing M-16 & M-60 MG from shoulder up road. LS & MS of M-274 Mechanical Mule w/ 106mm aka 106 RR firing missiles from road. CU. Drive past camera & Black soldiers or marines running past; unpack 106 RR ammunition.
08:15:57 Slate: 14Feb Hue. Marines along road; tank past, turning tight corner; explosion & reversing w/ much diesel smoke. Men in ditch. Tank banking over mud brick wall, turret turning. Back maneuvering at corner. Troops around end of house. Running past hedges. Beside parked bus; firing rifles.
08:18:40 Slate: 14Feb Hue. Marines firing rifles in front of shop, set up small M-60 MG on table & fires along w/ four rifles.
08:19:04 Fighter jets overhead. Tank maneuvering corner; marines running, one carrying 3.5 rocket launcher, others w/ 3.5 rocket rounds. Tank backing up road.
08:20:01 MCU Marine talking w/ journalist (?). Man getting shells out of bag while cradling Winchester Model 70 Sniper Rifle. All near tank.
