Crowds cheer outside, courting couple in foreground walk off to a bench laughing, then go inside the house & kiss. Troops march off to Civil War in front of cheering civilians. Leading lady starts crying. 21:03:40 Title: ’Later - Chance places her alone in her home with the battle outside.’ Soldiers order women to stay in as mayhem occurs in background. Woman watches from window. Soldiers behind walls on either side of field shoot at each other. 21:04:32 Title: ‘In the first conflict the boy becomes panic-stricken’ Soldiers fall dead. Man falls into bushes & runs to hide inside house. Woman finds him in bedroom, laughs at him, throws him out in anger, then pleads him not to go.
