Large track vehicles past. 12:51:45 River w/ many DUKWs crossing in heavy currents. 12:52:05 Captured smoke machine tested, CU roiling smoke. 12:52:20 GIs loading truck & artillery onto pontoon raft to cross river, moved by outboard motors on flat boats. 12:52:43 LS infantry across field, up riverbank. MS German prisoners questioned, waiting, marched off along road. 12:53:44 River & large pontoon barges moved into place for bridge construction. Men run ashore. Dead body on river bank. GIs roping pontoon sections together & lay racks on surface. High angle, jeep driven aboard; push off in fog w/ outboards. GI infantry boarding & across river. March along river bank to board landing craft w/ medics. Leaving in smoke screen. POV from landing craft. Tank onto pontoon barge & moved across river by four outboard motors. Bridge extended into river. 13:01:05 German POWs off small boat, hurried up riverbank under guard; MCU prisoners.
