Russian representative Gen. Barinov reads long statement greeting US troops, marking 4th July celebrations & detailing victory over Germany - translated by American officer. All salute as band plays national anthems. 48-gun salute fired by C Batt of 78th FA Bn. US General Omar Bradley reads statement at microphone; “ this ceremony marks the meeting of the United Nations here in Berlin and the complete defeat of Germany...” - thanks Allies. Military VIPs march off. VS Soviet troops standing to attention - march off w/ rifles & bayonets as band plays.
