Settlers w/ carts; carriage; stagecoach w/ waving passengers; miitary troops march. 01:05:39 Topped hatted men meet, greet first steam engine - George Stephenson’s Rocket steam engine; The John Bull. First railway train - the Best Friend of Charleston built in 1829 - passengers in period clothes. 01:07:00 Dewitt Clinton engine - carriages are stage coaches on rails. Lafayette “long-boilered” locomotive. Horse drawn carriage. Horse-drawn car. 01:08:13 Tom Thumb engine (1821) designed by Peter Cooper. Race between Tom Thumb & horse drawn coach. Horse wins.
