Last Friday morning eight carloads of men tried to prevent me from going to work. When this failed they followed it up by throwing a bomb at my house at 2 o’clock in the morning. It shattered the windows in my house. Had it been thrown eight feet further to one side it would have landed in a bedroom where two children were sleeping. Now I am a union man; I have been one for eight years and intend to remain one. But like 10,000 other people in Hollywood we are caught in a jurisdictional dispute but we insist upon the privilege of every American citizen of working when & where they feel” (abrupt end).
