These men were the brains of a empire. They were the leaders of a nations destiny. It was their’s to choose whether their nation would lead an honorable life in the family of nations; willing to settle differences that might arise in an amicable & lawful manner. Or whether their nation would embark upon a program of aggrandizement & war against the other members of the family of nations & would become a symbol of evil throughout the world. They made their choice, for this choice they must bear the guilt, compares to the defendants at Nuremberg saying they were not the dregs of society and the underworld like those people were these men were supposed to be the elite of the nation, the honest & trusted leaders to whom the fate of the nation had been honorably trusted....they voluntarily elected to follow the path of war, bringing death & injury... 13:56:35 “For this choice these men now stand before this tribunal awaiting judgement....for this choice they must bear the guilt.” 13:57:00 Sir William Webb dismisses the court until judgment has been decided. judges, lawyers & defendants & MPs & audience leave the courtroom.
