Two couples in evening dress playing bridge. Man gets up and goes to piano, sing “ One of These Days “ He had previously been involved with one of the women in the bridge four, she is now engaged to other man. He is not good bridge player and trumps her ace.
08:22:22 Couple, now married on honeymoon, they are having dinner in hotel. Another couple invite them to play bridge that evening. They begin to lose heavily as husband plays badly. Husband trumps her ace again after an onlooker tells him which card to play.
08:29:50 Divorce court - wife on stand tells about bridge game. Her lawyer is the man from first scenes who was love-sick for her. It comes out that he had taken her to dinner. Husband takes witness stand and gives evidence - it turns out that judge is onlooker who advised him badly.
Court adjourns - judge tries to mediate between couple. Wifes lawyer who wants her to get a divorce tries to stop reconciliation. Fight ensues between lawyer and husband. Courtroom listens as fight goes on. Husband ends up getting hurt and wife falls into his arms saying she would never divorce him.
