Autoclave w/ pressure & heat completes. 04:22:14 Ford Motor Company Rouge body shop. Longest assembly line where auto body aka car shells assembled on complex production line. Jigs used to assemble. Body shells united w/ underbody and frame is part of united body. Welded, lifted, moved & more welding. Joints brazed, seams soldered, cleaned, doors installed & readied for painting. Spray-painted, wet sanded, polished & to paint spray booth. 04:24:44 Glass, weather stripping & other fixtures & fittings added. 04:25:00 “Mr and Mrs Customer” in Ford showroom looking at car - salesman shows brochure. Finished car pound at Dearborn. Final assembly & front wheel suspension alignment. Engine components installed & engine lowered into car. Final assembly w/ motor dropped in, grill, wheels mounted. Bumper added. Seats installed. 04:27:10 Visual inspection. Driven off line & head lamp, wheel alignment tested. Tests on roll test machine; body into spray chamber & checked for leaks. Car driven onto transporter truck for delivery. Montage River Rouge plant.
