Cold War; 1960s; Atomic Bomb Accident; Military Embarrassment; Aviation Crash Aftermath; 1960s; Radiation Hazard; NOTE: On 17Jan66 a SAC B-52 carrying four B28 thermonuclear (hydrogen) bombs collided in mid-air w/ KC-135 tanker while refueling. 3 bombs were found on shore, high explosives in two had detonated on impact scattering plutonium dust over several hundred acres. After 80 days the fourth bomb was found. NOTE: Sold at per reel rate.
