1984 - Color, President Reagan: Opens Cabinet Meeting on Economy, 15Nov84
People to seats at cabinet meeting. President Reagan talks about reports he received on unemployment: “There are 357,000 more unemployed now than in January, 1981; but there are also 5,700,000 more ?? than there were in January, 1981. How then is the unemployment rate exactly what it was in January, 1981 7.4 percent?” They all try to explain it to him, especially Donald Regan. Weinberger: “Whole lot better economy, that’s what it is.” “On w/ the agenda!” Regan: “What rules are we operating under here?” Abrupt end.
