RR series radar reflector (commonly called chaff) outlines use of 8 new types: spool reflector ca 450 ft., cut-dipole include the RR19, RR3. these shown mounted on cardboard tape as dispersed then falling. Hand drops light chaff.
10:40:09 Women working manufacturing spools by cutting from aluminum foil; inspected & boxed. Women mount leader ribbon and parachute tab mounted on head of rolls, then put into plastic sleeve. Reflector units shown being mounting in sleeves & prepared for shipment.
10:42:12 Loading reflector units loaded into B-36, then attached together. Remotely dropped from pressurized portion of aircraft. Seen from behind being dispersed & separated into reflector clouds which will put clutter on receiving radar scopes.
10:43:54 Equipment used to study effectiveness of jamming system shown. Man at electronic equipment. Continuous wave seen being jammed on scope.
10:44:55 XA-1 version of AN/APT-16 & AN/APT-6 w/ description of antennas & components. Radio receiver An/APR-4 & panoramic indicator AN/ALA-2 used with AN/APT-6 w/ signal on oscilloscope shown.
