Into basement restaurant, Nazi heavy watches; Tom spots Linda Pavlov who asks: “Did you think about me a little bit today?” Blind man follows both Tom & ??. CUs Various people watching each other in restaurant. Blind man down stairs. points cane to last guy who has come in who is watching Tom & Linda, & guy watching from behind newspaper. 05:21:52 Blind man outside. Waiter tells Fielding he has a call, takes him to office where four men sit; German-American tells him details & threatens his family. “You’re family will be perfectly safe if you do everything I ask. Deliver to me the 311 gasoline formula.” Tom leaps across desk, restrained. “You’re not going to get away w/ this!” Slaps him, asks more questions. Guy who followed Tom in listens at door in hallway then ushered out. Pulls out knife from top of cane & stabs Fielding’s “tail” in back. 05:30:34 Fielding into house, quizes his sister about what she knows about Bob’s work. Goes up stairs to bed.
