Men into landing craft & onto Pacific island, battleships firing, smoke on Island. Troops in landing craft - landing on the beaches under fire. Explosions, dead, tanks thru jungle. Rocket launcher firing, flame-thrower. Troops moving thru jungle area. MCU & CU past. 02:15:35 Wounded men receiving treatment from medics & carried on stretcher, put onto jeep. Troops patrol. Tanks move up. 02:16:27 Hospital field station, man carried on stretcher. Preparing treatment area. Various wounded helped into aid station, wounds dressed by medical corpsmen- giving transfusion. Man w/ splintered ankle treated. Men put into jeeps for transport back to beach evacuation center.
