Seen from another dock, 2-stack w/ small number 21. Men cleaning, painting, maill is loaded aboard, troops embark, rope cast off & stored & it leaves NY harbour w/ tugs. Navy blimp & shadow hovering over ship while still in coastal waters. 12:40:44 Men at rail; at sea - officers & crew working. Below decks engine room, radio room, crowded troop quarters; men smoking.
