Seabee repair barges, man welding; mechanics working. 04:35:11 Protected artificial harbor at Arromanches; pier & pierheads w/ ships unloading cargo; Rhino ferries taking equipment from freighters & Liberty ships. Seabees tugging on ropes lowering trucks, filling deck of Rhino & moving to shore. Men in waders & bulldozers helping unload & onto sandy beach, signal man w/ flags directing; bulldozer pushing Rhinos off beach. 1006 Pontoon Detachment working on causeways, sinking at high tide. 04:39:01 Infantry walking ashore thru water splashing across. 04:39:14 Utah Beach US Naval Dispensary sign on end of quonset hut; placing Red Cross flag on ground Jack Greenwalt (sp?) driving captured German Citroen car, talks to Commander Hollis & Dr. Anderson. 04:40:01 Pan camp w/ camouflage netting over foxholes, tents & troops climb out; mess hall above ground. 04:40:42 Cherbourg harbor.
