WWII - 1945, France: Paris Snowball Fight; Tank Crewman Speaking To Camera Intertitle: Lighter Side of G.I. News - Battle of Paris. 21:28:22 Snowball fight on Champs Elysees in fresh snow w/ some women; in front of shop Aux Trois Quartiers. American jeep pummeled with snowballs. 21:28:45 Intertitle: War Experience. 21:28:49 Tanks crew in front of tank in snow; Private Pat Brady, SOF: “Well sir I was attached to a platoon of tanks & we were to take a town, a town by the name of Kirch ??. I had to be in the lead tank, so here we go. We went all thru that town & our gunner had a slight case of trigger happiness and he just shot everything up &...houses were flying everywhere...I thought this was a breeze, look at that stuff fly. We come up to this tank trap or...road block & went thru that & then boom something hit that tank & she caught on fire. Well I always did have a little trouble getting out of that hole that I’m in down there, but boy, I’m tell you I got out of that hole so fast I don’t even remember hitting the ground. And when I woke up I was in the ditch & lead was flying everywhere and ammunition inside the tank was going off. Well it was quite an exciting time I’d say.” 21:29:54 Group shot in front of tank. Brady, SOF: “Well I want to go home. I wish they’d get tired of this. We just keep killing ‘em off. You’d think they’d get tired of it after awhile.” WW2; 1940s Europe Winter; Battles; Fighting; Humor; NOTE: Good, lively sound testimony.
