Machine gun on ridge & firing; Marines running across field; behind tank on ridge, firing. 10:41:28 Slate: H Co, 3 ? 29th same. Tank & machine gun fire on grass bank. Marine outside cave throws grenade, explosion & smoke. Tank & marines advance across field. 10:42:20 Slate: illegible. Marine shouting to tank driver, tank firing flame-thrower, flames in grass beside tank. 10:42:42 Slate: At this point was pinned down by Nambu Cross Fire. We all beat Hasty Withdrawal. Tank parked, smoke around; LS of tanks parked on side of field, much smoke.
