SBDs take off from SARATOGA. CU 500-pound bomb on a SBD. TBF pushed aft. 500-pound bomb underneath a SBD. Flight deck w/ planes being spotted aft. 12:07:03 AA flak during Battle of Santa Cruz. A Japanese "Kate" comes in, strafes & downed near ship; fire & large column of smoke shown (excellent). Another "Kate" is hit, catches fire as it flies over flight deck & crashes to starboard, explodes aboard USS YORKTOWN (CV-10).
