LS Heavy cruiser firing. 1 & 2 turrets firing aboard MINNEAPOLIS. 5" 38 cal AA guns firing. 12:02:05 USS HORNET (CV-8) survivors transferred by breeches buoy from destroyer to cruiser SALT LAKE CITY (CA-25) or PENSACOLA (CA-24) including several stretcher cases. 12:05:04 F4F takes from USS SARATOGA (CV-3).
