1904 - USA Industrial: Welding the Big Ring
At least four to seven blacksmiths shaping & hand welding a giant metal circle hanging from a large block-and-tackle as a foreman supervises. Men can be seen behind also welding w/ sledge hammers. The join of the ring is plunged into the forge; the workers then pull it away & several others stand on the ring & hammer the red-hot portion w/ sledge hammers whilst the others steady the ring. They then guide it back into the fire, put it under a drop hammer to weld the join, then hammer it again and again hammer.. Shot from several camera positions
