Oct58 Title. senator Malone sitting behind desk speaks to camera, SOF: “I was proud to lead the fight again this year for the repeal of the wartime excise taxes which included 20% on live music. We have cut most of such taxes in half during the two terms I have served here. The tax on live music discriminates against the hotels & cafes that wish to present live entertainment & dancing privileges to our youngsters. This measure was of particular importance to our state of Nevada for our hotels & gathering places are renowned the world over. The bill lost by a scant eleven votes due to a misunderstanding, and I regret to say, the lack of courage in some quarters. A change of six votes would have won for us. I intend to lead this fight again next year, to aid the hotel & restaurant industry in the state of Nevada, to provide jobs for your musicians & to provide w/o prohibitive cost wholesome entertainment for our young people. And next year we will win.” Lobbying; Wartime Taxes; Sin Tax; NOTE: Any or all of 10:55:06 - 11:02:24 sold at per reel rate. Low contrast.
