09:28:48 Electro-magnet in yard, steel billets & steam drop hammer forging. Boiler plates moved & fabricated, rolling & sandblasting. Riveting w/ mechanical bull riveter. Assembly of firebox into boiler & engine lowered onto wheels. Engine 602 rolls out of machine shop, past shops & sign.
09:31:41 Steam towards camera, RR engineers arrive & check time. Train leaving Roanoke & Bluefield, West Virginia station. Sign: Pocahontas Coal field. Train climbing thru mountains & over trestle. Train into Williamson, West Virginia; passengers on & off. Train at coal & water station; crossing Ohio River bridge, along valley & good runby.
09:34:05 CU wheels turning & driver rods (GOOD). POV from cab, speedometer at 100 mph. Train passing thru Portsmouth, Ohio yard & train passing, pan of town. Train pulls into Cincinnati, ext shots large art deco RR station. Black & white workers greasing & oiling engine.
09:36:08 Train returns to Roanoke, engine moved to round house for servicing. Engineer CU pocket watch: 11:01. Servicing; coal & sand loaded; washing & filled w/ water.
