Lawyer driving past sees them; train passes. She leaves. Shift replacement arrives on small motorized handcar or “speeder” on tracks. Johnny finds Esther’s glove on ground as he leaves on horse; freight train slowly passes. 13:20:36 Wilton writing under tree as Esther arrives home; he talks to her objecting to her visiting Buckley who arrives w/ glove. Wilton to Johnny: “Leave this place-- and in the future stay down where you belong!” 13:22:38 Bill Buckley at station gets assignment. “...you’ll have to break in a new fireman, Bill”. Others come out to watch him as he climbs on train: curtains in windows & note about powdering nose before hugging bosses wife. He waves & laughs as they laugh, takes down curtains. Fireman arrives. 13:24:48 Title: “Say--my name’s Collins-- I fire for you, don’t I? Engineer & fireman in cab; train out of yard w/ steam. 13:25:14 Title: Meanwhile at home, Mother, Johnny & Henry...” Moving to new house. 13:26:00 Runby & views from engine; fireman drinks from flask. Runby shot. 13:26:27 Buckleys outside, moving into new bungalow house. Esther w/ dog at her house, sees collar says return to John Buckley. Esther writes note w/ quill pen & puts on dog’s collar; sends him home. 13:28:59 Johnny at switching shed, dog arrives w/ note saying to watch for chimney smoke as a signal that Wilton is gone. 13:30:13 Mrs. Buckley & Henry finish moving, cut roses, flowers. Henry talks about his mother. 13:32:03 Train shots, fireman w/ flask in MCU. Buckley takes it away. Runby; shot in passenger car. They fight. Buckley throws bottle which breaks on rocks & into stream; man drinking at creek discovers “alcohol” taste. CU smiling & drinking more. Continued... Bernard Miller, J.
