Ed calls Collns in & fires him. 13:36:15 Buckley arrives home, sees “for rent” sign & empty house, worried. Esther & Wilton in Miller mansion. Wilton going out as Esther begins to make fire, returns; asks her to come to town. She says no and he grabs her. Esther calls for housekeeper who is leaving. 13:39:37 Title: “Josephine! Josephine! Wilton throws match in fireplace & fire starts as he chases her around room. CU trying to kiss her. 13:40:33 Smoke in chimney, Johnny sees & rides up driveway as Wilton is kissing Esther & she cries. He runs in & breaks thru door, Wilton throws first punch and they fight. 13:43:06 MCU Wilton pulls gun; they fight as wide-eyed Esther cowers. Mr. Buckley walking up to house hears gunshots; takes gun away from Wilton. Buckleys & Esther leave in car. High angle arriving at Bungalow. CU out of car. 13:45:14 Title: “What about Mother, Johnny? Where is she?” She comes out to greet him & shows how nice it is. Greets Esther & shows dad the deed. Happy; excited. 13:47:09 Title: “In San Francisco...” Street lights at night. St. Francis Hotel interior (staged). Millers get telegram to come home saying Wilton acting strangely. 13:48:27 Wilton eating breakfast alone w/ maid; Wilton opens telegram to Esther from parents saying they are returning tonight.
