In England we are particularly intersested in the system of grants to colleges, educational institutions of higher learning. While I’m in England I want to learn something first hand of the National Health System that they have there. Ireland has a particularly interesting problem for us for they’ve done a great deal in the way of their Social Security System, particularly for the older people & that is rapidly becoming a serious problem with us. Sweden has a health service & certain convelescence hospitals which we are very interested in knowing more about. Switzerland had a great medical service, its set up on somewhat different lines than we are visualizing here & we’re anxious to know more about it because possibly they have had some experience useful to us.”
